On 19th December 2017, RDI visited Asean Coordinating Centre for Humanitarian Assistance (AHA-Centre) as part of institutional visits to RDI affiliated partners. One of the highlights to be achieved in 2025 is to make ASEAN a regional pilot in Disaster Management and Knowledge. Due to the current facts, disaster events have been happening in SEAsia but research or writing about it has not been done by Southeast Asian community itself, but by foreign people in other regions.
RDI team met Ms. Adelina Kamal, Mr. Mizan Bustanul Fuady, and Mr. Dipo from AHA Centre sekretariat. This meeting discussed about RDI intention to collaborate with AHA Centre within new webinar series offered by RDI with tentative title "Raising the strength of NGOs in ASEAN for the next major disaster preparation in ASEAN". The first trial of this webinar series will be initiated in February 2018.
The proposed webinar series will be the first collaboration project trial between RDI and AHA Centre, that will discuss various trending issues and topics in Southeast Asia.
Institutional visit aims to have an insight of organizational profile and current research/projects conducted by RDI affiliated partners so far.
