MoA Signing with CAREDs Unpar and Symposium

RDI was invited by Parahyangan Catholic University (Unpar) to attend the inauguration of their new Center of Adaptation and Resilience for Environmental Design Studies (CAREDs). The event was attended by CARED's partners such as National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), ITB's Center for Disaster Study, University of Education Indonesia, Maranatha University, Indonesian Institute of Science (LIPI), Indonesian Disaster Expert Association (IABI), Toba Caldera National Geopark, and others. The inaugural opened with introduction from Unpar's Research and Community Development Center (LPPM), followed with introduction from CARED's director, then a few words from head of Toba Caldera National Geopark. After the introductions, RDI signed MoA officiating RDI and CARED's partnership.


After the signing, the event continues with symposium on Environmental Engineering and Community Resilience Based on Disaster Mitigation in Dealing with Indonesia Disaster Situation. During the symposium there were four presentations from BNPB, Unpar Civil Engineering, RDI, and Toba Caldera National Geopark. Mr. Hermawan Agustina from BNPB spoke about Indonesia's disaster situation in general and Indonesia's disaster data. After Mr. Hermawan, Prof. Paulus Pramono from Unpar's Civil Engineering program shared his work on Bandung's disaster risk and disaster mitigation efforts. Following Prof. Paulus, Yasmina represented RDI in sharing about RDI's researches and findings on community resilience examples in Indonesia. Later, Mr. Wilmar from Toba Caldera National Geopark shared about Toba ecotourism and conservation.


The meeting ended with brief discussion on the topics. The event was an opportunity for RDI to meet with stakeholders and strengthen RDI's partnership with Unpar.
