Dr. Saut Sagala, a senior research fellow of RDI gave a guest lecture at Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at Macquarie University Macquarie University, Sydney, Australia on 12 February 2018. During the talk, Saut explains what are the challenges faced in volcano risk management and thus what can be enhanced in the future. These also include for more research and collaboration to bring up more efficient approach and important ideas to increase the resilience of the society. Overall, Indonesia has about 120 active volcanoes where millions of people are at risk. Therefore, local government and communities have increase the capacities to deal with the potential impacts.
