RDI hosted the Business Plan, and Cooperative Management Workshop on 30 - 31 March 2022. This activity was held under the implementation of Durable Solutions through Urban Living Lab from the Making Displacement Project in Garut, West Java. The MDS  Project is a collaboration between RDI and the Global Network of Civil Society Organisations for Disaster Reduction (GNDR). This workshop was one of our ways to create impacts for improving the resiliency of displaced communities in Indonesia, especially in Garut, by conducting a workshop that focuses on the economic recovery after the disaster. We invited the Cooperative and Micro, Small, Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Agency of Garut Regency and the displaced community from Hunian Tapak (Huntap) Babakan Carik relocation and Cigadog relocation sites to participate in this event.

The first day of the workshop was held at Huntap Babakan Carik, Garut, in coordination with Cooperative and MSMEs Agency representatives as the speakers.  Meanwhile, the second day of the workshop was held at Kampung Alkautsar Cigadog, Garut. There were two topics for each day’s workshop, which was held in those two mentioned locations. The Business Plan Workshop was presented by Dr. Ayu Khrisna from Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI). Meanwhile, the Community Cooperative Enterprise Management Workshop was delivered by Mr. Asep Dedi Setiadi, Mr. Fawwaz, and Mrs. Merlin as representatives from the Cooperative and MSME Agency.

RDI was so thrilled to be able to conduct this workshop successfully. We were also very honored because the local people there were highly excited about our workshop. It was shown since they were actively asking questions and sharing their feedback on the Q&A session. Hopefully, this workshop can elevate their capacity to become more resilient, especially in their economic aspect.
